Caddy camper honeymoon

Hi, I posted on this site a number of times asking for information regarding transplanting an AAZ into my petrol caddy. With your help and much patience I completed the job shortly after getting married. We travelled through France and Switzerland. We had a couple of probs, especially within a couple of hours of leaving the ferry at Callais…We were on a dirt track in the middle of nowhere, in pitch darkness at around 4 in the morning when my new wife smelt burning. Wires had burnt and melted under the bonnet and dash. AARGH. We wer going nowhere.
We spent the night stuck on the track. The following morning I I took a live feed from the battery to the stop solenoid, and hey presto the caddy fired up.
I spent the following day removing the loom and stripping out wires I didnt need and replacing ones we did need but had fused together and melted.
I must say I was extremely proud of myself.
The rest of the 3 week honeymoon went OK until the last week when we couldnt get any gears.
Turns out 2of the 3 bolts on the rear `box mounting had jumped ship, so the engine was lifting and throwing the shift mechanism out.
Called into a Brisco which is like a B and Q, bought some bolts and araldite and spring washers.
Struggled fitting them though, and it was raining - AARGH again. Reset linkage and we were mobile again.
I was fortunate enough to have brought a number of tools, wire and connectors.
Quite an adventure.
