Keeping the interior looking like it did from new!

Ok, so I have a 1990 Cabby and I'm fortunate that the interior has not been messed around with using all the super sexy sprays and polishes.

You know the ones I mean, the ones that as soon as a ray of sunlight hits the interior (mainly the dash) your instantly blinded  :banghead:

I looking for a product that keeps it holding that semi-Matt finish, just like it had when rolled out the factory. Now if it could restore the original smell, that would be a great bonus.
And I'm not talking about Saurerkraut and Frankfurters

I'm sure there's a fare few of us that remember that smell!

At the moment I just wipe it down with a damp cloth and then go over it with a soft duster.
Which works ok but I would like to hear from the experts.  :dontknow:

I'm the same… Just use a damp cloth and go over it with a fine microfibre cloth. The odd time use a bit of sun of a gun. Not too often. Have a dash trim bar/sponge which is hood too just a quick wipe and clean it up, nice smell too.

For the seats and carpets they are treated to a wash once a year and always come out sparkling. Not sure if that helps!

Cheers Hugh.

I too have this problem of being dazzled by the reflection of the sun off the dash of my Mercedes ML. Now I just leave a layer of dust. :D

Some diluted all purpose cleaner - I use Autosmart G101 diluted right down (it is VERY strong). This takes she sheen off. The problem is you keep adding more products but you need to take all the old stuff off.

Then some meguires quick detailer on the dash gives it an OEM new look. Matt finish.

I'll give the Meguires a little go.
When I take mine back out of mothballs, hopefully the end of March with a little luck.

Autoglym fast glass is good on trim and dashes too as it leaves matt finish.

For the smell they do a fresh spray (can't remember what it's called) very strong - one spray in each footwell is enough but when it subsides a bit then leaves a 'clean' smell without overpowering as I can't stand anything too smelly! lol

Aerospace 303 is really good

Post

As above 303, great for vynil roofs too.
They use this on boats, hot tub covers etc.
Some products contain petroleum or alcahol derivitives
these actuall attack the plasticisers used in manfacture.

The 303 will protect your dash etc but more importantly the door cappings, as these are prone to cracking from UVA sun light damage etc.
I won't use anything else on my Cabby.

Just add a quick look at the products and there are a number them.

Which of the 'Aerospace 303' products are people using for the interior please?

I can't afford to buy them all!

looking at the prices your better of getting the 16oz.

I got the 8oz and was suprised it's not that big. Goes along way but will buy the 16oz next time I purchase.

For fabric you could get a scotch guard treatment once youve aqua vacced them.

The price for is about £15.00 roughly for 16oz, plus post.
But I just found a place in Germany that will sell me a Gallon of it for £65.00 posted!

I believe that works out at £6.50 for 16oz posted.
If there are still 160 imperial ounces in an imperial gallon.
But maybe the UK has sold of the measurement to help pay the debts.

Trouble is I only have one interior to keep looking good.  :P
