How to clean your spotlights

Post

Hi, I have always thought how cloudy and milky my spots looked compared to the headlights so today I cleaned the insides of lenses. This is how I did it.

Remove the grill. Remove the rubber cap, the bulb and the earth wire.  The bulb holder is secured by three bend down tabs, prise these up using a small flat blade screwdriver and the bulb holder will come away from the back of the light.  This leaves a much larger hole.  I then cleaned the inside of the lens using one of daughters old socks.  I pushed the sock all the way in and then used the handle off an old tooth brush to clean the lens. Putting it back together is reverse.  Clean lights for free and it makes a massive difference.

I will add pix when I work out how!!

Here's a similar solution with Pics half way down the first page and some other good suggestions as well.

It's not that hard and as you know yourself makes a big difference should anyone fancy trying it!

On my MK2 I just split them and got hot water and polish to bring back the clarity. Bit risky etc but results are fantastic.
