Update: Bits of Rivage Cream Leather Interior Wanted

Post

Door cards as well as seats, and carpets

I am some way closer to getting all the bits for a cream leather interior for my cabby, but there are still a couple of bits I need:

Cream armrests
Cream carpet
Cream parcel shelf and carpet section which stick over the panels either side of parcel shelf
Cream tonneau cover

Also, to save a repair, does anyone have a cream leather skin off the base of a front seat?

Let me know if you can help!

Thanks

Do you look at ebay.de?

As you well know there's not that many in the UK let alone breaking for spares. So I'd go and look at the German ebay market.

I have seen them come up and with a little persuading they will post to the UK if you've got 100% Feedback! ;)

Costs are always at the forefront of our minds but if that's the only place you can find them, well. ;)

Update: Bits of Rivage Cream Leather Interior Wanted

I have done in the past, but I never seem to get much in the way of a response to my searches.

Is the equivalent German model a classicline? Also, is it referred to as a golf i or 1in Germany?

A Rivage is a Rivage no matter where it was sold basically.
Same with a Sportline for example.

Now clearly you have to be a little mindful when buying stuff abroad, for example a LHD carpet won't fit but door cards and the rest on your list are the same.

The rear seats are the same I believe but the fronts I'm not 100% sure!
Can't think of why not but something is in the back of my mind that won't, just can't tell you more right now.

As for searching websites in German speaking Countries.

They do call them different models kind of like this.
We have the Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 etc…

In the German language it's:
Einser, Zwier, Drier etc…

So the English equivalent would be a 1er, 2er, 3er.

But if you search with the words, "Golf 1………"
That should catch most of what you're looking for.

You could then search again with, "Golf Einser………" and you might catch a handful of parts where someone has used that term but not often these days.

Finally in my experience you just have to play around with the search criteria and have a lot of patience! ;)

Good luck with your hunt for parts and if I come across anything on my Internet travels I'll let you know. :)

Cream carpets are like gold dust, esp ones in decent condition, most have been replaced with black as the cream ones get grubby beyond use.

you could get leather bits recolored in the correct color and give the rest of the interior a refresh too.

Bodywork is next on my list before i even start on restoring the interior!

Yes you are right. I had contemplated getting a Newton commercial carpet and spraying it with a beige fabric spray paint, but I think the weave is too tight to make it look right.

I will keep looking.

not sure spraying the carpet would work, I was referring to spraying the leather parts.  also the newton pile is not as nice as the oem carpet.

Mine had a oem black carpet fitted wit ha nice deep pile, tbh, its probably better than the cream as it would be filthy by now! The black still looks like factory as it compliments well wit hthe dash and black speaker pockets etc.
