Golf gti steering column I think

i have a mk1 caddy and I have just bought a golf mk1 gti steering wheel only to find the wheel won't fit onto the splines on the pickup steering coLumn, DOH. I take it I need to swap the column from a tin top gti over to make the steering wheel fit.
so has any one got a gti they are breaking… Please.

If it's anything like the golf, which at a guess it is:
If it's too small there is an adaptor that can be fitted to the splines to fit the large spline steering wheels, if it's too big it may already have the adaptor fitted.

2008 T5 LWB, 1.9 Tdi, to be converted to camper when I've finished using it as a van!
1999 Audi A4 Avant Quattro, 2.5 Tdi, currently off the road, more work required.
2010 Tiguan R-Line, daily driver.

I am afraid I have no idea what you need, but if you need the complete steering column I have one. I am at cb22 4rx.
