Bare 1.5 (I think) engine and 4 speed manual box.
Condition is completely unknown coming out of a 1981 golf cabriolet which I haven't heard run or drive.
It's still in the vehicle looking for £50
Carb and shafts not included. It's just the bare engine, head and box.

The head is from a 1.8 as it's got the water pipe coming out between cylinders 3 and 4.
1.6 heads it's between 1 and 2.
There should be an engine code just below no.3 spark plug, possibly EX engine?

I think you will find it's a EZ if you clean up the face a little more.
Engine codes can be found on the web,
http://www.clubvw.org.au/vwengines
EZ engine block listed as a 1.6, 75 bhp, 1988 to 1991.
