All the cabbies were made by Karmann at their factory in Osnabruck.
Which one do you want as the Clipper is the base model with a carbed engine, whilst the Cabby GTI has the Injection engine fitted.
There isn't a specific 'Karmann Edition' model.

Have you had a look through the cars for sale ads?
Usually a few in there.
I suppose it depends on your budget and I would all way's say do your research.
The early cabbies were small bumpers then in 88 they were given the facelift so had the big bumper kit fitted with the wheel arch extensions.
There are different versions such as the all white, all black, Christmas Cabriolet, Quartette models that had different colour combinations.
Later the run out models such as the Rivage and Sportline models are sought after now and hold their prices fairly well.
Rivages had power windows, power roof and heated seats too.
The rarer Green version were also trimmed in leather as standard.
If you have space, budget and skills or in the know of someone who does a project could be a way forward.
There was a cheap blue Rivage for sale the other day for about £800 with leather interior.
Winter is a good time to buy as prices tend to come down a bit.
Good luck with you search and let us know how you get on too.
