Description: VW Golf MK1 Golf GTI. Built 1982, registered 1984. 2litre 16v, full conversion. Track car. Three previous keepers from new. Photocopies of all V5s from new come with the car, which I obtained via the DVLA. Black, non-sunroof bodyshell. Never had any body kits, bee-sting aerials or received any accident damage. Nottingham car from new.  Most MOT’s from new also, some laminated by the previous owner, apart from the time it has been dry stored. I have owned the car 15 years, and over this time it has been mechanically rebuilt from a rolling shell.  Thousands spent mechanically to ensure reliability. 12 months MOT. Full special edition Green tinted glass, and leather Campaign steering wheel. 30K miles in last 15 years. Glove box and fuel cap all lock with correct key etc. Body has been waxed injected from the factory, and very solid.

Engine:
Audi 2 litre 16 engine, 1800cc 16v (KR) cams. Rebuilt and ported cylinder head, matched to inlet manifold. Diesel steel head gasket. Stainless steel four branch exhaust manifold. 2.5” stainless steel custom exhaust system. Also comes with a muffler to reduce decibels for such tracks like Goodwood and Donington Park. This is a sleeve that attaches to the tail pipe. 97K miles.  New radiator, 90AMP alternator, starter motor, battery. Powder coated inlet manifold and rocker cover in motorsport Blue. New throttle cable and clutch cable. New oil pump when engine was installed and new sump.  No smoke or rattles on engine. Magnecore HT leads. Oil changes every 3000 miles, with VW oil. Red Polyurethane engine mountings too. Very strong engine. 14.86sec standing quarter at Santa Pod.

Gearbox: 16v (2Y). Slight crunch in second gear. New inner and outer CV joints. New genuine clutch and rear crank main seal. TSR rose jointed gear linkage kit.

Suspension:
Koni rear top adjustable shock absorbers. Jamex springs. Sach front shock absorbers, with Bonrath top mountings. Red polyurethane bushes throughout (including steering rack, rear beam etc). Lower adjustable strut brace. New steering rack. New wishbones. 4 wheel alignment.

Brakes:
256mm front brakes, 23MM master cylinder, larger late MK2 Golf brake servo. MK2 rear disc conversion. MK4 Golf calipers. Scirocco 16v hand brake cables. New brake lines and braided hoses installed.

Injection system: Bosch K jetronic. New fuel tank, stainless steel filler neck. Audi Quatrro turbo fuel pump, new accumulator, new VAG fuel lined from pump to metering unit. All fuel pressures adjusted to which improved response / performance.

Wheels:
X5 VW 15” Sebring wheels, with X4 new Uniroyal rain sport tyres. Have done X2 track days, but plenty of tread and road legal. X4 powder coated wheels in Black.

Interia:
Standard interia. Black and Grey. Drivers seat has wear on bolster. X3 VDO gauges in center consol.  All gauges and dials operate. Rear upper strut brace. Does not have rear parcel shelf supports. Door cars are excellent, no speaker holes and are not modified in anyway. Dashboard is also very good and survived well.


Overall, the car is scruffy, but solid. All original VAG panels. A repaint would freshen it up and make it look smart. The only panel I have fitted is a O/S front wing (VAG). Bulkhead, front inners wings, floor-pans are solid. Back panel near tow eye requires a repair.  Car has not suffered / deteriorated since I have owned it. Loss of storage, and lack of use forces reluctant sale. No test pilots please. Doors and bootlid are straight and solid. All receipts / photo album, power graphs / compression test results available. Lack of use and too many cars forces reluctant sale.
