Up for sale here is my Volkswagon MK1 Golf Gti, it’s a tin top with no sunroof. I have owned the car for around 3/4 years now. Genuine reason / reluctant reason for sale, I have another classic car on its way so need the space in the garage for both toys! The headlining is in good condition along with the rest of the interior being clean and tidy – even has parcel shelf with are quite hard to come by and for it NOT to have holes cut for speakers. Unfortunately the same cannot be sad for the front door cards, they have had holes for speakers.Exterior wise, the whole car has undergone a full respray in its life, originally it was mars red however now changed to another shade of red. Being a full respray, everywhere has been done, under bonnet, door shuts, inside the car etc. The front valence below the front bumper has gone a little scabby (see photos), and there is the odd mark here and there around the car however for a car of 33 years old it can be expect. Also, on the passenger side door, there is a paint clip (again, see photos). Also the car is fitted with the Zender body kit which are quite rare.Being one of the early MK1 gti, it was originally fitted with a 1600 gti engine, however a previous owner changed the engine and box to the 1800 8v gti running gear.The mileage on the car is 95500. I have some service history / parts brought & replaced over time so I’ll dig all this out and round it up.Recently I have had the following parts replaced:- Downpipe- Centre Pipe- Backbox- Exhaust rubbers- Trackrod ends (both sides)- CV gaiters- Wish bones and bushes (both sides)- Anti roll bar bushes- Front and back wiper blades- All 4 wheel bearingsParts within the last 12 months- Front brake pads- Rear brake shoes- Rear brake cylinders- Rear wiring got redoneBad points, as mentioned the front valence is a little scabby, the paint clip on passenger door, temperature sender needs replacing and the oil pressure switch – I have both of these just haven’t got around to fitting, the rev counter seemed to have a bad connection as sometimes it works and other its does and the speedo drive needs replacing (again I have this just haven’t got around to fitting. Also alternator belt could do with replacing in the not distance future as its getting a little wine from time to time.As you can see the car is fairly original and generally in quite good condition.
