History of BRN ….

Purchased on the 11th September 1980 By a Lady in Banbury with Registration WG100 for £4528.87.
The car remained in the same family for 16 years covering 32,000 miles.
In the late 2000's the car returned Oxford and into the hands of Danny Smith, a well-known VW Enthusiast with a talent for restoration.

The Vehicle underwent :

- Full bare metal respray taking the car from its original Indiana Red to Mercedes Russet Brown DB427 by Motorworld Oxford.
- Replacement of majority of parts with new old stock sourced by Crazy Quiffs MK1 emporium.
- Interior was re-trimmed in Biscuit by New Trim of Oxford.
- Private Plate BRN 86R
- Rolled and sealed arches
- Engine fully freshned and cleaned
- Brand new full VAG Exhaust system
- Genuine Chrome VW Embosed Radio Mono fully working

- Brand new old stock Ariel Bronze Glass all round with new rubbers and chrome
- New old stock small front spoiler
- Unmarked low back velour front seats (Tan)
- Rare early indicator/wiper flat stalks
- Polished handbrake leaver
- Polished gas pedal Polished Brake pedal
- 74 Early Tan Parcel shelve
- Fully referb spare wheel
- Standard Suspension set up
- Standard Steel rims with official VW centre caps.
- Box of Trophies
- Folder of receipts, Pictures, Tax Disks, MOT's, Original VW Manual & Service Book
- Nanolex coated paint work.

This car has had every Nut, Bolt, Washer, Screw replaced all new or old stock. Car runs amazingly smooth with its Auto gear box and manual choke setup.

Following the restoration was success at a number of car shows (picking up in excess of 25 best in shows) and the Cover and feature in Golf + magazine October 2010.

When i purchased the car it was sitting extremely low and on ugly snowflake alloys so i decided to invest over £1500.00 having it put back original all round with new mounts, springs, struts, steel wheels and caps, carbs cleaned and engine tuned up. If a lower stance is desirable they a set of coilers will fix that and i am sure the VW stock set will fetch a good price as they have only covered a few miles.

Any inspection welcomed and viewings highly recommended, i will be available next weekend for interested bidders to view if they wish.

I am only selling this vehicle due to financial reasons and i will be sorry to see it go.
