Description:

after a change in circumstances i now need to sell my beloved mk1 that i spent the best part of the last 2 years rebuilding. i am assured by the previous owner that this is a series1, v5 says manufactured in 1982 but car was a german import, tax free armed forces car before it was imported so your guess is as good as mine if it is series 1 or 2 makes no difference to me.

anyways. when i got the car it was a 1.5 petrol auto. i have installed a 1.6 diesel engine from a caddy with a manual 4 speed box and replaced ever part i could get hold of while it was out. i would say the car is about 95% perfect but i now have no time for her. needs a lock set (has different keys for each lock) ignition trim is missing. the wiper panel has a little rust (i will supply new panel). other than that its top notch with no expense spared.

here is a list of parts replaced but i will probably forget some:

outside:

wooden gearnob to match

new gear gator (genuine nos and very cost a lot more than i wanted to pay!!)

chassis:

new eBay coilovers
new top mounts
new bottom arms

new track rods inside and out
new cv joints inside and out
new steering rack bushes

new drums
new shoes
new copper brake lines
brake fluid replaced

engine and gearbox:

1.6D from caddy aprox 95k
new timing belt
new aux belt
new rocker gasket
new water pump
new oil and filter

new bosch s4 battery
all jubilee clips replaced
new glow plugs
mk2 alternator (my home made bracket could do with a tidy up)

complete new gear linkage with short shift (was not easy to find!)
new clutch
custom spacers allow the use of mk2 clutch cable

thats most of it but i have no doubt missed some things, i was never away from auto parts. It owes me the best part of 5k but I'm looking for £2750 or a transit sized van.
