You can get replacement VIN plates

So i was always told its not possible to get a replacement VIN plate for your car…well ive just had a very interesting chat with a guy at my local VW dealership whos told me it is possible.

Ive been told to come down with the following documents so they can start the process. How well this will go and if it actually works who knows but il update.

1 x form of official ID (passport or driving licence
3 x bills too the registered address of the car in my name
The V5

will be one happy guy if this comes off.

Just arranged the paperwork down the dealers. Application has gone off to be approved in Germany.

If it is approved a new one will be issued £61.50

Worth it tho. if your car gets a full resto to look factory fresh And then that plate looks scabby in your bay. It's + vat sp actually £73 haha

The OE ones are just stickers I think, not the same as originals. But at least there checks done to prevent the fraudsters.

will soon see, I am not paying that much for a sticker. I was told it will be metal. il check with them again.

Shughy was making replica ones. He'll have some for display at the NEC I think. 

Was tempted but then saw they have replica on them. Want OG but it comes at a price

I could try and make you one up if you wanted. Wont be metal though, would be plastic.
