I am waiting for an out of stock hose that I paid for a good few weeks ago.
I knew it was out of stock at the time but I have now emailed them twice with no reply asking when they think it will be in stock and delivered.
There is a thread on the FB page on the same issue regarding waiting and lack of comms.
A guy at my work has been waiting for numerous parts for a while now as well.
I will not buy from them again as not only are they expensive with brutally expensive delivery charges, they are also non communicative and their service is just awful .

I mentioned on FB I've had issue with back-orders. The most recent I think I've waited 8 weeks for. I wasn't bothered as didn't need the parts urgent and had forgotten about them a bit, but miraculously when I call to chase they're suddenly in stock! Me thinks they were forgotten about

Sorry to hear you have been having problems with VW Heritage (I work there).
If you wish to PM me directly with order numbers I'll get back to you ASAP with updates.
It is very very rare that orders get forgotten - we have over 16,000 part lines, so naturally some stuff is out of stock. We try to give as much info to when these parts are due in as we can, so that you are in the picture when you order.
We would love to give you periodic updates as to how long your order will take to be complete, but this just is not possible with our computer system. We go through our backorders most days but sometimes we may miss something.
As for coincedental parts coming into stock.. it is just that, we have no interest in not sending your parts to you!
For those who would like to call please feel free to use 01444 251270, this is found online in our contacts section, and we use it on all catalogues too.
The 08 numbers are used so we can see where calls come in from, they still only cost local rate but dont always work on mobiles.
We try our best to respond to emails as quickly as we can, but if you need an update urgently please give us a call and we can chat in real time. We have had a recent server issue that was blocking some emails but that has been sorted now.
As for costs.. we try our hardest to remain best priced for parts, we actively price match to competitors, and will match identical parts if given the opportunity.
I Hope this has answered your questions and concerns. We feel we have a lot to offer the VW scene and fellow enthusiasts and appreciate constructive critcism and feedback and will do our best to act on it.

I have bought many things from yourself and as long as it is in stock, I have had no issues.
If you look on the FB page there is a lot of unhappy folk about regarding waiting times and lack of information.
The daft hose I have been waiting for is not massively urgent but IMO if there was an estimated delivery date or some sort if info then that would have been fine for me. I have actually now ordered the same hose through classic-vw and will use the first hose that arrives.
The issues with others orders are different as they are needing the part now and no info must be a nightmare when your needing it to make your car run.
I have now been contacted by your company and they are trying to sort it out for me.

I couldn't be bothered chasing it by phone as it would have cost me more than the item, so I just go elsewhere now for my parts stocking up for my restoration.

Perhaps their mail order service is a bit slow and outdated in this day & age, where everyone seems to get good service even from fleebay.
You can't beet the old fashioned phone call and talking directly to a human though!

In response to shipping costs, in particular Ireland.
We try our best to do these as cheaply as possible. We shop around for the best overall value when it comes to shipping; we have to consider that the cheapest are less likely to offer the other things we require - online tracking, collections if required, 24hr delivery etc.
Our carriage rates are based on what it costs us to send and Ireland is always more expensive than mainland.
Another thing to consider, is other suppliers may suppliment their shipping prices to Ireland etc - so take some of the profit out the part, and offset it against the shipping cost, hoping for you to place a larger order so they can recoup their costs.
Hope this explains a little more.
"Hadtoo" thanks for the positive comments - and we are here to speak to, please do call 01444 251270

I have had really good comms in the last few days with several e-mails and I hope that my part, which is meant to be in stock now, gets located and sent through soon.
As I have said previously when I have ordered quite a few parts in the past that were in stock, I have had no problem apart form expensive postage in my opinion.
The same part from classic-vw has already arrived in around a week, whereas I have been waiting for weeks for the part through yourselves ?

I can only assume we were out of stock when you ordered, and classic-vw had it on the shelf.
Depending upon when you order, and when in the month we order from the supplier (typically monthly, although some suppliers its only a few times a year and in big quantity) will depend on how long this lead time is.
We are reliant up loads of suppliers to operate, and some work faster and ship faster than others (or ship to a forwarding agent who then wait for other parcels, to send all together to us).
This doesn't excuse long lead times (we aim to make them as short as possible,) but hopefully explains why they are as they are.
Good to hear our communication has got better, and I hope the part arrives quickly for you now.
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Andy thanks for responding ,to my comments royal mail provide service throughout the uk,if I post to my bro in Bedfordshire its the same price as friends in Scotland.Southern Ireland is different however ..
Thanks Ivor,
Our postage rate (just checked the Mk1 catalogue) shows Northern Ireland the same as mainland UK with Royal Mail.
We use Royal Mail for smaller stuff up to 2kg and for parts under £25 in value (typically) Over this we like to send with a fully trackable courier service, which costs us a premium to send to Northern Ireland.
Hope that clarifies the above.

Vw Hertiage Classic parts - Buying all the stock of classic parts that you could still get at the dealer with a little research and then charging 4 times as much…….not really helping the enthusiasts
VW Classic Parts have collected oboslete parts from dealerships and warehouses all around the world (on their own) and stockpiled it in Wolfsburg.
As the UK Partner for VW Classic Parts, we have been chosen to represent them in the UK and deal with enquiries and orders for this stock (over 40,000 lines).
The prices are dictated to us by VW themselves, typically based on the last known retail price of the item.
The items can all be seen on their website http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/
They price in Euro's, we price in £'s - there is little in it once the conversion is done, and condsidering the parts come to the UK for no extra cost (and if ordered on our website are shipped from us for free in many instances) I think it's pretty fair.
I hope this explains a bit more about how it works.

The price of nearly all your parts is at least twice as much, compared to buying at the dealers a couple of years ago, or even recently.
What you do is good to support the enthusiasts with such a large range of parts, its just you could get all this before, if you did a little more work to research part numbers etc.
Now I can't help feeling that when a part is no longer available sometimes its because they have been stock piled?
I guess people selling on ebay isn't helping either…
Sorry to rant, but its the view of not just me, but others who have been involved in mk'1s for some time now.
