Vw Golf/Caddy MK1 Headlights not Flashing

Right so my Caddy MK1's headlights dont seem to be flashing when i pull back on the indicator stalk. However when i turn on headlights on the headlight switch and pull back once it clicks and engages full beam or disengages full beam correctly. When the lights are off though the stalk still clicks and sounds fine but the lights dont flash. Seems very weird and not sure what to do. What you guys all think?? Cheers.
