hi everyone.
im new to the forums .
i want to fit 15'bbs rc to my golf cabriolet 1982.
the bolt holes will line perfectly up and will tighten but the centre piece on the recieving hub seems a little to big to recieve the centre of the alloy.
the car had 13' vw factory alloys fitted .
any one any idea what is wrong or how to rectify.

Did the BBS wheels come off another VW as if they did seems a bit strange as I haven't come across any 4 bolt VW alloys which do t fit all models.
If they weren't fitted to a VW before then sounds either like the centre bore is for another car or are there any spigot rings fitted? They may not be too obvious but should tap out with the aid of a screw driver an hammer?
I know that The MAZDA MX5. wheel fitment had same bolt pattern as the Golf but centre bore was smaller so often aftermarket BBS wheels on those needed spigot rings fitting. I bought a set once, took the rings out and all was fine.

Thanks for the reply Richard.
The bbs were bought from a guy -have no idea what they came off, but he said they were suitable for vw.
I will check out the few points you highlighted.
Thanks again.

It might help if you post up a couple of pictures of the wheels.
Plus a close up of the centre and anything that's printed on them! 👍

The centre bore has to have a 57.1mm diameter. If it's smaller then it won't fit over. As stated, Mazda is fractionally smaller but we have a set of TSW winter wheels on one of our cars which originally came from a Mazda, we just reamed them out. If you go down this route, make sure you machine with massive amounts of cutting fluid; we used a coule of cans of WD-40, otherwise you'll be on for hours and will just break your tools.
