Service

Hello,

So now that I have my hands on a 1994 Sportline I was interested to know any feedback on if its worth getting a service from VW. Its 300 bob however I want to keep the car completely original so want the service manual stamped etc.

Can anyone give me feedback as to whether or not its worth it ? The car has done 50k miles.

It's really up to you. My golf has done 120k and has full service history so I keep it going, I know I could do it my self but I like to get the book stamped too. Why don't you get the parts your self? You don't really need genuine stuff for the service and you still get the book stamped. Buy your own oil too. It's so much cheaper and what's left is yours for top ups or for next time. The parts should cost you no more than say £50 for oil filter, air filter and oil. If you want plugs it may be a little more but they are only a couple of quid each. Service shouldn't take more than an hour for a good tech. If the garage is being honest you would be looking about £150 all in including your parts. Give it a go.
