I usually have to adjust the doors or gates for the newer seal to either get it to latch properly, and or seal correctly.
It may be that you need to adjust the thing a tad, as over the years hinges will move, as well as latches. Seals get torn or go flat, and you would possibly not notice the change in the way the hood gates or doors close.
Just because it is a re-make, I have seen some a bit wider, or thinner in the profile and have had to make adjustments as need to ensure proper fit.
