Happy new year! a friend of mine has offered me a rear panel which was purchased from bbt a couple of months ago, after emailing bbt yesterday they have confirmed that there panels are indeed pattern parts. you say you have used there panels before. are they a good fit? and in particular have you ever fitted a rear panel of there's? if not has anyone  ever fitted a bbt rear panel if so was it good quality, but most important was it a good easy fit?. thanks in advance and a happy new year to all.

Are you fitting the panel yourself? If you are then you can take as much time as you like getting a snide panel to fit correctly and beleive me it will take time. However if you are paying a body shop to do it then it may be false economy to get a cheaper copy panel. The money you have saved could easily be eaten up in man hours getting an acceptable fit and finish. An original will be far easier and quicker to fit and IMHO will always look better. The pressings just arent as crisp on copy panels.
