MARK 1 convertible starting probs

Hi

Can anyone help me ive just bought a 1981 convertible (dont wanna say gti cos although it says it on logbook im not 100%) its been stood for a while and intially started first time i jus got back from hols and went to start it but it seems no fuel is getting thru to engine   ive checked the obvious (changed ALL fuses, as all writing in german so i dont know what fuse does what) can anyone tell me what to check next???

fuel pump relay? think its number 19 :roll:

Just in front of the drivers side rear wheel arch(under the car) ' makes a buzzing noise! '
