Left Hand Drive MK1's ?? Many out there?

Hi guys, may be entering back into the MK1 ownership shortly but this time it may be a LHD. It won't be a daily driver and mainly for shows/meets etc. Are they worth the same as RHD's of a similar age/spec in general?

Most likely not unless there's something very special about it. Like it's a one owner, mint GTi or something like that.

To answer the question in the title of the post.
I've not got any figures for that because I'm not sure they exist.

But there must be worldwide 10 to 15 times more LHD than RHD and I think that is a low estimation.

There is info here http://www.cabby-info.com/history.htm showing cabby sales in US v UK per year. Based on this alone there were at least 10 sold in the US for each UK car. If you then consider sales in Europe, then easily 15 times as many LHD as RHD.

Nothing wrong with lhd,   I'm using my lhd mk1 as my daily.  
Brakes are  better.  Quicker getting out on a busy road ,  funny watching the look on people's face trying to figure out what's not quite right,  it's a mk1 golf 
  
 Disadvantages when it comes to overtaking,  car park barriers .  

Nope, nothing wrong with LHD cars, I'm on my 5th!    

I've had my left hand drive two door automatic for 12 years. It's a 1500 and gets used a lot! I love it and can't see me ever selling it. Hopefully in the new year it will get the body painted and seats retrimmed. Long live the left hand drives!
