Is there a reference for the interior trim types for the mk1 Golf, I know the seats have been changed but unsure as to whether they are an original type.
Thanks for any help.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

They look like late mk1 GX seats, these Brochures might help you too- UK Golf Hatchback - The Mk1 Golf Owners Club

Thanks for that information, my seats look like they are from an upmarket model and not a basis L.

Yes, they are basically the same as the GTI seats but in a different material and don't tilt. The L will have had seats without the large bolsters, if you have the sticker in the boot on the rear panel or in the paperwork with the chassis number, engine number and colour code on it, it will also give the code for the type of interior it had.

Thanks for all the useful info, I now need to decide if I want to find some original L seats.

What model/ year???

Have you tried this firm? They supply the majority of firms I've found…..
Home, West Trading

They only supply to the trade so you'd have to find a firm to help you out if there's a match.

The car is a Golf L from 1980.
Those two websites look very interesting, thanks.

I believe those seats have come out of a Mk2 Golf?

I think you are correct, they certainly look like Mk2 seats.
