Is that dark green?  If so I would keep it as it’s my favourite colour. Ironically my golf is black

Well asking for opinions, is like the gentle person (read ID-10t asking me the other day, "Which floor tile would look better in my house?"…Like I know what your house looks like?…

The only opinion that matters is yours, and yours alone.
Sorry I can't assist you further.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

This.

Personally, I can never decide if I would rather have black than the green I have. Black is more "stock", I guess. Yours (Audi?) is very similar to Classic Green Perl.

Are you thinking of changing the whole body kit, or just the colour?

Whip

Noun - Car

When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

Like the colour,  not so sure about the body kit..  EDIT   Although it does look much tougher with the bodykit / wheels,  in the second photo it looks rather wimpish..as does any mk1 with small wheels..

YOU WILL HAVE TO ALL EXCUSE ME IN THIS FORUM I HAVE JUST JOINED…I am really unsure how to reply or even post your comments…The conversion kit is a authentic Kamei Conversion Kit….Initially I hated it  but grew to love its lines …the wheels were my sons idea  Hockenheim I think ….Sadly or not I love the original  manufactured finish….I know I have the Pirelli P5 Alloys but not too sure about the front spoiler….everything else is totally original  even the "Fag Burn " on the back seat were I threw a fag out in my smoking "Hip Days" but it blew back onto the rear seat and the 87.750 original miles….Whichever decision I make I am going to need some help and advice from you all Thanks Barry

With the kit it’s not ‘original’ anyway so worrying about ‘unmolested’ and it’s values as such.

The kit is of a period so the car represents that period in history/time. If you change the colour my only recommendation is it is a full stop down and and engine out paint as it will look sh*t with a different colour inside vs out.

Wheels are bolt on so can be any you like.

Why you keeping it. Because you love it or for an investment. If because you love it then make it yours. If mainly an investment make it as close to factory original as possible.

No matter what you do, get it done right otherwise it will cost money and depreciate the car.

Welcome along by the way.

I agree - I'm not really a fan of body-kits, but comparing the 2 pictures it does look a bit wimpy as standard.

I've got a fag burn in my back seat as well - adds to the character!

If you do revert it back to original, you might get some reasonable cash for the body kit if you can get it off in one piece.

My humble and often floored advice. The paint looks in good shape.

If it was mine then I would have it professionally detailed. - must be local car detailer near you - just check out Instagram loads on there. Get them to do a machine cut and polish to really understand how much paint is actually needed.

Would then take it to a recommended painter. Once again ask people into their cars locally. Paint is paint whether a new or old car. If they know their craft they will cut any rot out and repair, match and blend where it won’t be seen assuming the paint colour is a known standard colour for a manufacture. If a personal concoction of some painter then this is really hard to match.

For me I would consider adding some standard waist line trims in Matt black and a pillar trims in Matt black to maybe break the overall green a little. These are clip on parts so fitting and checking is easy.

Overall though good looking car in good shape.
