Headlining and fitting required??

Good afternoon all,
I need a new headlining and fitting into my 1991 Mk 1 Golf Cabrio?

Does anyone know anyone who does this?
I'm Peterborough, but I don't mind travelling for the right price/job to be done.

Thanks all.

Only thing I can find is the headlining on eBay , I'm having the roof changed so I'm hoping Bas will change it for me to.

Don't get a headliner off E Bay.
Headliners are year dependent and if its the same guy who's selling as I messaged 4-5 times asking for which year, he didn't respond.
To get to the headliner you need to strip the whole lot off down to the bare frame.
Headliners cannot be retro fitted once the new hood is on no matter what anyone says.
You'll probably fine the interliner is shredded and the pad worn too.

There's only one place in the world …. Jack R Smith in Swansea 01792 461022.  Those gimps at the MX5 club swear by him but I had him do 2 of my cabs in the past and the job is very cheap and very good quality. Might be a bit of a wait though.

I have one in black done in my Helios Blue Cab and it was the best desision I've ever made.

I called them at jacks and the bloke I spoke to pretty much told me he didn't want the job, said mk1s are a pain and waiting for parts takes months, completely fobbed me off for some reason,

Problem is that it's easier/quicker to do modern cars and there more profitable.
MK1 Cabby hoods can be a fiddle and you come across all sorts of issues, rusty rear window frames, cable channel lips, snapped rear cables, side tension cables, interliner and pads no good. Twisted frames, frames that have been snapped and welded with big bolts, so the frames not square that's just a few I've come across. You don't know what you're going to be faced with until once you've stripped the old top off, then there's the waiting game for the bits, so you can carry on the job.
So you have  a car sat in the garage taking up space, that could be used for a quick turn around on an MX5 for example, that's what puts most off.
So the costs parts and Labour of doing that job would cost more than the value of some cars, plus folks don't want to pay literally hundreds for the job.

As I've pointed out a lot of the time the interliner and pads are shot. So it's not worth putting a new roof over the old gubbins etc. That's happened lots of times.
I've sent a Top Pad kit over to Jack Smiths the other week for one of the guy's on here.
Like I  say it's not a 5 minute job to change the headliner as all the stuff has to be stripped down first.
I've just done a MK3 hood and that was quicker than fitting a MK1 and less fiddlier too.
