the brown one, it wont specifically say 93 clipper but it does say about cabrio on the cover and its as close as you'll get. covers most of the cabby specific info you'll need and has the wiring diagrams. i cant remember if it covers the clipper kit, and the digifant engien those will be the only 2 things it wont have in it if not
the basic digifant engien is same as the kjet ones so most of twhat you need is covered, but digifant fuel/ignition info could be found in the mk2 haynes, or just on the forums

7 pin thing yeah? thats the ignition control unit, or the TCI unit (transistor controlled ignition)
or do you mean the ceramic tube thing with a yellow wire out of each end? thats the dimdip resistor, if the wires short thru this sets fire to the headlight switch. not too much of a problem on a mk1 asd its in a decent location, but on a mk2 VW decided to drape the wires over the chassis leg so its common for em to rub and short out. I always bin them as soon as I spot!

yeah it puts the dipped beam on dim with the sidelights, so if you're driving about with sides on for a while it'll get hot as its a resistor

ETKA isnt very clear, but I think you need one or both of these:
171419517B - ball bearing - 3.61+VAT
171419539 - thrust ring
the 1st one is available from VW, the 2nd is not but heritage stock:
https://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Steering-Column-lower-Support-Ring-Mk1-GolfScirocco-Genui-171419539_act_shop.product_pID_154236482.htm
or order it via heritage from classic parts for a longer wait but cheaper price:
https://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_vwclassicParts.search.htm?classicSearchText=171419539
heritage do the bearing as well if its easier for you to get one from them rather than VW, though out of stock right now:

I've done it on a MK2 and I cant see mk1 bein any different, but yeah for mk2 you undo and remove the bolt at the bottom of the column to the UJ. Next take off the plastic trim off the bottom of the lock housing, disconnect all the plugs and remove the allen bolt holding lock housing to column tube.
now the column will pull right out with all the stalks and steering wheel still attached
then its a case of remove the old bearing/bush and pop in the new ones. OPh and there is a spring between the UJ and the base of the column, be sure not to loose it and to refit it after you build it all back up.
