Can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend a good set of repro door handles.

The locks i currently have arent catching the latch inside the door and not locking when i turn the key.

Even better does someone has some OEM ones they would be willing to part with dosent have to have a matching ignition barrel but if it did that would be amazing.

Most of the time you need to tweek/bend the arms which the handle and lock move in the door.

Remove your handle and check all lined up as you may not need new handles.

On 1 of my doors Ive had to tape on a pop rivet to extend the lock arm so it catches, been working like that for 4 years…  :lol:

Well I have found that different handle makers either shorten the latch pawl So I always re-use my old ones if I have to change a handle.

I have also seen that the rear screw mount is not seating at the rear correctly and I have to file it to get it to scoot further back.

Yeah I know it is a broken handle but that is the piece I have had to file.

When returning it to the door, I latch the front and fully scoot it to the rear and place the rear screw in first.
Then the front screw.

Lastly if you haven't taken your latch out and cleaned and lubbed it, it may be close but sticky.

I also needed to extend the locking arm on the latch when I installed mk2 handles on one of my cabbies..that was truely a PITA….

So to answer your question, I usually use a hella set, but remember, the 2 door is different than a 4 door….

The easiest way to extend that lock arm is to drill a 1/8 hole near the inside and use a piece of thin steel Drill a 1/8 hole and either POP rivet it inplace or screw either works well, then use tinsnips and a file to lengthen it a 1/4 inch or so,  I also use JB-Weld on the Steel between the steel plate and arm prior to riveting it in place.

Thanks both for your advise managed to make them work this weekend ended up extending the lock part not the handler and it now works perfectly.

Not to fix the fuel pump which died this weekend.

No point buying repo door handles when you can fix the genuine handles….. Good to hear it's now fixed.   :thumbs:
