conversion

Totally new to this, what im wondering is how much money you think it would cost to get a pretty average/poor condition mk 1 and convert it into a 1.8t or similar. i would be getting a garage to do this or if anyone on here knows garages that do this please let me know.

is it cheaper to buy one thats already been converted or is it cheaper to do it yourself?

its hard to put a price on this sort of thing as someone when doing a conversion will buy all quality parts i.e bushes, mounts, driveshafts, intercooler, ecu and will cost alot where as other will only buy what they need and as cheap as possible (not advised).

i did mine for 2k

ive been asked in the past to do this conversion for others ive always said about 3k to get one done and driving away
