Just bought a mk1 golf gti reg A857 HUE  trying to find some info on it I know that's its been of the road a long time 1999 I think

The reg looks familiar to me but checked some old pics from the early days of the club and can't see it at a meet. No one springs to mind sadly.

The last existing link I can find to the original Campaign register is dated 11 October 2004.

Not that it's any use to you as your registration isn't listed but an earlier issue A52 HUE is suggesting date wise at least you've a legit Campaign.

Access is via, ' View the current entries in the database' mid way down on the left of the home page.

got some info on the car today v.a.g service pack found some history on it up to the 10/10/94 some old tax  disc and service records and receipts date of first reg is 11/10/83 mr m s jones the old ash hill Compton Wolverhampton bought it new from Wolverhampton motor services still got original plates on the car with optional extras b79 430 560 568 707 715 738 750 ?picking it up Friday.

Option codes 707 denote "sales campaign edition" and 750 Pirelli Wheels, so again looks like you have a genuine Campaign model.

have had the red one for 3 years now have renewed or restored every part half way through the engine rebuild  then she finished only done 400 miles since 1996.
