Buying a mk1

alrite guys! my car should be up for sale soon on ebay, and i really fancy a mk1!

now, i know theres only a few on here, which do look good, but i came across this one:

not long left, seemed ok, whatever money i get for my mk3 will be pumped back into it, so whats your verdict? should i wait a little longer? or is this one worth the plunge?

thats a really nice little mk1!!  its a s1 so will always fetch good money. i'd say go for it

If you're happy enough with the 1.1 litre engine (quite low power) then go for it.

oh so you actually think it looks nice?! thats always a good start! not sure to be honest, not many photos, ive requested more, but still havent got any, just sold my TT comps today for 250 smackers so i could buy this no problem, and i still havent sold the mk3 so that would buy me a nice alarm and get all the niggly bits done on it….

colour looks pretty cool, not seen many of that colour, someone care to elaborate?

yeah insurance is biting me in the bum atm, i only need to use it twice i week so i dont need huge power, ill have a word with the father and see what he says…

i love the older looking ones that look a bit tyred.  not just the clean cut ones that still look new

I was soooooo tempted to bod on this. But it's REALLY far away and the lack of pictures and not being able to view it makes it impractical.

Oh that and common sense.

Good luck to whoever gets it, I've always liked that colour and there's the added bonus of it being a 5 door. :wink:

mmmmm yeah it sold for ?380 it did jump quite a bit in the last hour or so. ah well, whover does buy it, get up lots of photos, and i hope its very very very rusty

plus it was quite a trip to go see it as well, but ah well, plenty more fish in the sea! looking for a 3 door one anyway

aargh could have been mine, im getting pretty desperate to find one as my mk3 is on the bay atm!

Like you said plenty more fish in the sea don't just buy any golf just so you have one.  Plenty of people have made that mistake.

bargain, i always thought that was a rare color on the S1's ?
