Arch liners

Hi owners, having a tidy up of the underside of the 83 Golf prior to the winter salt. Not owned the car long and noticed I have no front arch liners fitted and only one rear covering fuel pipes. Question is whether to find and fit or leave off. All arches have been cleaned of all road crud etc and seem sound. Many thanks.

Ditto for having the liners.

From recollection there's just the single partial liner you appear to already have at the rear, there to protect the fuel pipes etc., nothing on the opposing side.

Yes get some front wheel arch liners if you use the car in any wet weather, if it's a dry use summer car that lives in a heated garage 99% of the time then don't worry as it won't get mud or dirt anywhere near it.

VW fitted liners because the far top corners are mud traps and rot the wings from the inside out.
I would of thought that a 83 car would of came with wheel arch liners from new?

You may have trouble finding original Mk1 tin top liners as the cabriolet ones are slightly different so will need a bit of trimming to fit.
