My 1985 white GTI Cabby
Is it possible to find out if my car was fitted with the complete clipper kit when it left the factory?
VIN number maybe?
I'm currently repairing the bodywork and I've removed the body kit and bumpers and i think it looks better without it, or does it???
I'd be interested to know what is was actually built like and what folk generally think about the clipper kit on a Mk1 ????

Thanks for that. That white one in the link was a blooomin bargain.
Were they a "bolt on" off the shelf extra or could you order your car direct from the showroom with a kit already fitted?
I still cant make my mind up weather i should re-fit my kit or just leave it off, as it was …….
Both options look great.

They were standard to make them look bit more like the big bumper MK2's
If you bought one in 1987 it would have small bumpers and one in 1988 would have had clipper kit, no choice
