Air compressor by Parkside
When you click on the above link go to the DIY section. I was thinking of getting this to use every now and again, but mostly if I ever need to spray my car. What are your thoughts on quality and price. I have heard that Parkside make is German. I dont think it is a bad price and looks quite powerful. Has anyone bought one and painted a car with it? I think it has been on sale before in Lidl. There is also a sand blaster that would be great for blasting rusty parts and a spray gun. Would it be better getting a gun that proffessionals use do you think, as this has to feel and be right when spraying? There is a bigger compressor as well, but it is a lot more expensive. Is the smaller cheaper one well capeable for the DIYer? . Thanks

Even if you use it for a few years and upgrade as JB has done it'll be worth it

It doesn't take a lot of air to paint. Just get a half decent gun and moisture trap, and possibly a regulator.
Just don't be dissapointed when you try and run a sandblaster off it. It would probably be OK for small bits, nothing big. And the compressor will always be filling.

Settling In
I would imagine it would be fine for inflating tyres and running a small gun *but* as previously stated it will only be good for the smaller air fed items.
It would be good for running an air fed breather if you do get into spraying though.

I use for it for sandblasting and it works fine with the gun from Lidl. I also have the nail/staple gun which works fine too.
It'll run the air wrench but does have trouble with the rattler gun though.
I have it the garage and when it's filling it is quite noisy though. I think I'm going to build it a kennel outside instead.
Spose it's like everything really. You gets what you pays for.
