I have just got a mk1 project that has been missing the front screen for year. So where the birds and rains have dropped them stuff. The weeds have turned up. So would weed killer mark the carpet or have people had this problem and found a fix.

Hiya Wayne did you use a hot or cold wash on the carpet with a jet wash and did you use any soaps?

I would rent a rug doctor from your local DIY place and give that a go , although in all fairness you might be better with replacement new carpet or one from a car that's being broken ?

I'm with richyhill on you are probably best buying a good second hand carpet or you can buy new ones as it looks like that one is a little to far gone after a year sat in the mud and water.

tfr is good stuff, works ace on patio's too :-)
Still think the carpet might be a bit too far gone for TFR, you will definitely improve it, but with the weeds and stuff, cleaning another used carpet might be a better shout …
By the time you spend money on cleaning chemicals etc, someone probably has a used carpet from a breaker fairly cheap
