Update on the irritating cabriolet...

IS NO LONGER IRRITATING!!
I take back any bad karma towards the chap doing my work, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I couldn't collect the car because I was working so my dad did..my dad is used to brand new immediately immaculately running machines.
I have started it on the drive before and it seems to be fine then just dies when its cold, never worried me I've experienced that before when the timing has been off, old belts etc! But id start it up again leave it warm THEN I take it for Africa .
My dad didn't do this!
My extremely helpful VW specialist took it for a good run at a generous speed and hit no issues and then called me a bit puzzled!
Went to collect it tonight and besides a split flange in the carb and a lil coolant leak WE ARE FINE!!! (Sorting both this week)
Drove it home, testing it's boundaries a little, finally having some fun in it!
Tomorrow I'll start it from complete cold and see how we go.
So far so good
:)

Spoke too soon. Revved like crazy in the dual carriage ways.
Now the suspect is the carpet bunching up and stopping the cable feeding back through
the carpet is a joke and all lose and shrunk and old but I doubt this one,
Seriously anyone wanna take this off my hands

:(

Its just a matter of persevering Anna, keep the faith, you'll be glad you did. Just think of the sun out, roof down, stereo blasting and the admiring glances from everyone you pass.

Or sat by the side of the road waiting for the RAC, which is what I mostly do !

It is just causing me disappointment at the moment. It's having a gasket in the carb changed this weekend and i'm going to try and cut away some of the carpet and drive it for another hour and see what happens.
I have never been so effing frustrated in my life.

When i have a bad day a good drive takes away that stress, without a vdub i am a bloody nervous wreck!!!!
way too dependent on these machines.
