I would budget 6-8k at least maybe 10K as well it is summer. You can get 5k examples but generally need some cosmetic work inside and out. Rot free and good paint is the key to keep costs down is my opinion. Things like seats and wheels etc are done in a couple of hours on the side of the road dead easy. Engine can be serviced and maintained so long as it is quiet and smoke free. Expect garage bills though it will need love and attention but for every £100 you spend you help it go up £200 in value or at least not lose money, now how many cars can you say that about ?
