P slot alloys

Hi,

hopefully someone can give me a definite answer. I'm about to finish restoring my 1981 golf gti. I'm struggling to get a solid answer on the colour of the P's in the p slot wheels. Lots of pictures show the p's as silver but some show them as black. Can any one help.

They are Black

Definately black, Gloss finish but not too shiny that you can see reflections in it and the centre cap has a black ring around it as well. Here is one if my untouched ones.

Fitted to late 83 campaign models.   Black P's 

9 slot p's had black inserts to the p's.
8 slot p's with the metal centre caps had silver p's the same as the rest of the wheel
