Speedo isn't registering miles

Hi All,

My odometer doesn't seem to be working, I bought the car last month, and have finally managed to get her out.

I noticed today the speedo isn't registering miles.

I'm not even sure if it's the correct set of clocks, there arre a few Electrical gremlins I'm getting fixed in the next week or so,

it's a 82 mki cabriolet, it has an MPG gauge (doesn't work) MFA which will switch through the various things but doesn't seem to do much and the clock on the dash resets on every trip.

Speedo and rev counter works, any help greatly appreciated.

Mike

What happens when you reset the trip, does it work again?
Is there a clicking noise from the clocks?

My odometer has gone bonkers.I noticed not long after buying it (two  and half years ago with 105,000 miles on the clock) that It used to add say 3 out of every 10 miles travelled. Then it gave up for a few months. Then, just after Christmas, according to the odometer, I did 90,000 miles in two weeks! It then stopped again. Now it adds a few when its in the mood. I don't therefore have a clue what the correct mileage done by the car is…
