What ever you can afford, and be warned that you may have to trim the sheet tin to get them to fit.

But alas, the Sound out of your speakers are more dependent on the Quality of the Unit you are attaching them to.

Some one here installed JBL's (Just Bloddy loud) was his response….

On my 90Cabby with oem radio, I installed Sony Xplodes and it sounded good, but here in lies the conundrum.

I sat under a running Turbine engine for 4 years in my youth so I have hearing loss…. Everything sounds good to me.  :)

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

I junked the Pioneer that was in mine when I bought it earlier this year, it was too fiddly and I wanted a single slot CD player, not bluetooth/usb/sd. I fitted a a new old stock Clarion head unit, which popped my original rear speakers, so I fitted some JBL GTO 6425e speakers yesterday. My front speakers are some 5 1/4" ones of unknown parentage fitted in the door bins, and standard tweeters. It works for me and I have tinnitus.

I went the other way when my Premium OEM unit started to black face on me, I opted for a Bluetooth USB SD Hands free unit AM/FM Iheart pandora, and sirus unit as Where I live they are adopting a Handsfree law…

I can blow my own ear drums out at 90mph topless, it is rather loud when I stop though.

I don't answer my phone when I'm in the car, it will be unimportant, or not as important as enjoying my Golf. :ocf_emoticons__icon_biggrin:

I've just opened one front speaker fret to find a Rockford Fosgate Punch 152, so no wonder they are fairly loud.

Been questioning this myself as on full chat my blaupunkt cassette player makes the front grumble a bit.

The rears have been upgraded to very elderly pioneer units.
I swapped them out for somd Alpine E series and the Alpines were around 5-6db quieter and sounded tinny to me so pioneers back in but fronts do need upgrading
