It's hopefully not as bad as it seems! Take of the gator and have look, it's just a couple of nuts and bolts that holds it in place. Should be an easy fix. I replaced my gear stick ball recently and for a novice it was easy enough!

Took the gator off and it appears that the bit of gear linkage won't sit in it's runner properly.

should 10 fasten to 46 in any way or should it just fit and rest on it.. The problem I have is that the gear stick just keeps falling past 46

Can't help with the last question as it's been ages since looked at mine!
However I remember years back mine did this and the problem was the circlip no 28 on the drawing had come loose and moved up the gearstick.
Hope you sort it

Had a look around and can't see one on the mainstream sites. Looking back I got mine from ebay new for about £7 so was lucky.
Maybe one just to keep an eye out for. I guess as you've pushed your gearstick through it the rubber is ok but the sealing disc is missing?

Unfortunately not fella the sealing disk is fine but the rubber boot is absolutely knackered
