Should I sell my Sportline ?

Post

Hi

I know nothing is ever finished mk1 wise but apart from re doing things and  starting to do the underside of the car, powder coating and painting never seen parts or putting a new roof on, not because it leaks or anything, just because ive not done it ? I think I have completed the car.

It is original, with all original parts kept for any parts that I have changed like the clear lights.

It has done 97k miles and I am the 4th owner and it has fsh.

It is still original paint apart form the bumpers and although theres a couple of wee dents that I cant get out and the usual stone chips, it is in brilliant condition.

The interior is immaculate.

Engine bay is spotless IMO.

Mechanically its perfect.

SO do I sell it and get something else ??

Will I miss its total reliability and near perfect condition for its age and originality ?

It is pampered beyond belief and turns heads everywhere, or is that my beauty !!

Oh and even if I did put it up for sale, how much do I ask as the prices are all over the place nowadays with stupid prices for certain cars and still an odd wee deal here and there !!

Answers on a postcard to ………………

Don't !!!!

You will regret it, and after a while you will miss it and want another one which will never be as good as the one you sold !!!

Unless you have something REALLY special to replace it with, mint campaign or series 1 you would be daft to let it go, I've thought about selling mine a good few times but never went through with it and I'm glad I kept it.

That's the issue Baz, its spot on for all my needs and whatever replaces it may not be half the car and probably cost me a fortune !!

Decisions ?

Not as simple as that :-)

Couple of ideas in my bonce and it might involve selling both my mk1's.

GX is now fixed and getting serviced etc on Sat.
Sportline gets serviced and MOTed the Sat after.

Both then ripe for selling :-)

If you're selling it to move on to something greater then you wont miss it, otherwise you will! Only you know if you have another itch to scratch Chris, but you know you'll get top-dollar for it ;)
