Put back to original or not

I have a 1984 cabriolet GTI. I did plan on doing a 20v turbo conversion,  but unfortunately not have time to get very far with this; I fitted the engine and had the loom converted but never got any further with this.

I am looking to sell the car as I am just not going to get time to finish the project; I am not looking for a lot of money for it, but I need the space. Do you think I should put the original engine back in and get an MOT on it or sell it as an unfinished project?

That is the issue with conversions folks loose steam, finances change, marriages, as we say Life happens when you make other plans.  Not worth it if half finished.
