need a boss kit
so i bought this steering wheel on ebay for £230 posted, the guys description said it just needed a small spline boss to complete the wheel, so i bought an italvolanti small spline boss kit for £50 and it never worked, i posted onto the mk1 owners club facebook page and was advised these wheels originally had a fixedplace boss that was attached with rivets and that this is what i was missing and the only way to complete it was to get these parts which are no longer in production or buy them from VW retroteile at a price of 140 euro. i have since returned the boss kit and i contacted the seller of the wheel for a refund and return and now that he knows the wheel wont work he is refusing to refund me. so my question is does any of you know of a cheap option to make this wheel work or do any of you have the parts? or will i just be better to fight my case with ebay and get a refund then buy a complete wheel? i can attach photos of my wheel if neccessary.

Do they fit the standard hubs or have you got adaptors fitted I see 2 sets of holes on the revers photos assuming one set is 4x100

Depending on how desperate you are to use the wheel and no fork out for an original boss (which should never of been separated to start with really)
You could remove the horn from the wheel and either
1. Have the holes in the boss welded up and then drill holes through the steering wheel and boss, tap them and bolt together
2. Have them welded together as 1 piece
The horn surround would cover any allen bolt heads you use anyway so from a drivers perspective shouldn't look too different from original
