National drive it day

Next Sunday (26th April) is national drive it day , where all owners of classic cars etc use their car for the day.

The problem for most folks with this is insurance - no cover for business usage

Doh didn't read it properly !!

Uses it was something last year like drive your classic to work day and it was during the week so the insurance will have stopped most.  Makes more sense on a Sunday then.  don't get your BBQ's Out though it's bound to rain after all this nice weather we have been having!

Oh just googled it and it's so thing different to what I was thinking - looks like something happening locally for those in the Midlands - not sure if you can just turn up yet, will have to read a bit more.  If the Weather does hold, Gould be worth a Few MK1's having a trip out?

Looking at the entry form now and to get in the display you need to apply by 6th -April, but still can turn up and park in main carpark - says there is then a charge but can expect it to be much and good cause.  If there are enough interested we could meet up and have a short drive in?  I only live about 5 miles away, happy to make it mine if enough interested?

Looks good but got no front end on my Golf. Hope to tax it 1st of May.

The events is held on the Sunday nearest to 23rd April as a memorial to the first event in 1900… So the link says.

I'll be combining it with driving to work as well !! Grrrr.

I drive my bay bus daily anyway….its my runabout, none of this 'use it once in a blue moon and polish it endlessly' rubbish….cars are meant to be driven, classic or not!
