sorry its not another car lol I have been doin my house up for the last 18 months, extension etc…..
and a few weeks ago i made a big hole in the wall………for a fish tank and a good carpenter friend of mine built the shelf before the wall was bonded and plastered.
its between 2 lounge's, flap on one side for maintenance
water proof electrics
end result
Tank is 5ft Long, 14 Inches High and 12 Inches Wide (same as the shelf
never had a fish tank or fish before, any top tips? will be tropical fish……

Hi mate
There's lots off things to consider how much water your tank will hold will govern how big your filter will have to be,looks like you might have to have an internal as can't see where you would hide filter? Then there is lighting lots off different types warm white, blue and so on these could be put on a timer, then decoration what type of tropical fish you want will help with this chiclids are messy and aggressive you have to really only have a chiclid tank but they can be really bright close to marine colours and look really nice. Here is a picture off mine mate I've only got 2 large chiclids with a few torpedo barbs with sand and lava rock as decoration, also you have to cycle the tank empty to get the filter up and running before you add any fish
I'm self taught mate through trial and error but just contact me if you want some help setting it up

Ive a tropical fish tank as well and I left it without fish for 2-3 weeks, so that the water found the correct pH and the other level , which I just cant remember its name but it kills the fish ????
Once the water is correct, then you add fish but only a few at a time, not all at once and do not overfill the tank with too many fish.

It's nitrate, nitrite and ammonia that can kill your fish cycling the tank first as Chris said is def best way to go you can get testing kits for these really cheap also regular water changes need to be done, also not over stocking will help but sometime this can lead to fish fighting over territory so you need to stock more also some tropical fish hate other types and will constantly kill them wasting your hard earned cash,so any good fish stockist will be able to advise you first off what types mix well, if this is your first tank really you want to go for community tank type fish these are all pretty good at getting on with each other and quite hardy. Also just noticed in your picture there is nothing under tank really you could do with some sort of foam to help spread any pressure points with that size of tank.

Ah that's cool!
I kept fish once and ended up with some right aggressive Cichlids called Convicts because of their markings. They bred like rabbits so ended up with even more!
Couldn't even give them away!

That's really good Ansar. Always fancied fish but with 2 cats it wouldn't really work!

Id also set your radiator to same temp as your tank if you can otherwise you might get alot of condensation on the outside of the tank when the warm air hits it but looks cool was thinking of doing something simular for my marine fish but it started to get really complicated so gave up on that idea, u have got me thinking about it now again lol.
