Nice but all Cabriolets, and Golf Verts are Karmann.
There is nothing about Karmann that is "special" it was where they were designed and built.
They were built from the ground up as Cabriolets at the Karmann Coach works.

Read all about it at www.cabby-info.com

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Looks nice and shiny, any more info about the car or just wanting to post up a picture.

Really the cabriolet should not have the VW badges on it as it's not built by them….

1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

Not so, the car was commissioned by VW to be built to VWspecs, VW supplied all of the non-frame specific parts, and worked with Karmann (a VAG Plant) side by side. So it is a co-operative venture, funded by VW.

VW Karmann-Ghia's were made at the same plant off the design by Ghia hence (love that word) Karmann-Ghia.

Over here the Chevrolet's and other places had body's designed by the Fisher coach works, so they all had plaques on the door sills, Body by Fisher, but were still GM.

Karmann have been working along side various manufacturers for years as early as Porsche 356 in the 50’s and probably before that
