I too would like to know this! I've got 2 so I could afford to mess about with 1 of them!

Metering head
I successfully took one apart about 20 years ago and I successfully purchased a replacement from the breakers.
Only thing I remember was a very fine spring inside and learnt not to touch the adjuster screws on the replacement.
Good luck I am sure someone on here knows what they are doing.

I think you need pressure gauges to set up the pressure into the metering head, and then out to each injector and the main pressure control is set with shims. So probably not a DIY job!

I bought a spare which is the wrong one, and I thought I might use it for practice. Not too worried about having to buy gauges. I thought that these are such an eternal problem that if I could crack it I could help others out as well. I might just take apart the spare to see what's needed. I read in the forum that lots of washers can be bought on eBay but presumably there are diaphragms to replace as well

I think you can buy service kits like this…
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REBUILD-KIT-for-BOSCH-K-jet-Fuel-metering-Distributor-for-PORSCHE-924-0438100047/291650932593?epid=1643599876&hash=item43e7c00f71:g:CTgAAOSwstxVPAAw
Not 100% sure this one will fit but Bosch k jet was fitted to a lot of 80s/90s cars, even the Ford Capri used it…

I'm afraid that one has the wrong gasket. It should be metallic not material
