confused?
I am preparing myself to strip the heater box next week, The problem i'm experiencing is that the side vents blow cold where as the rest blow warm,
after reading this thread http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=mk1-golf-chat_2%2Fheater-mods I was wondering whether that was normal for a mk1?
Ive had similar issues on a mk2 and replaced the foam on the flaps with closed cell foam and have brought some to do the mk1, is this a pointless exercise?

Just a thought…… this happened to my driver and passenger vents, ie the ones with the knob and controllable flap ( ! ). Turned out that they had been removed at some point and when replaced did not fully envelop the large plastic pipe from the heater so much of the heat was being lost and not making it to the cabin. Simple fix if it's this with yours.
