Free image hosting sites?

Post

Now that the Photobucket site seems not fit for free image hosting can anyone recommend a free service that works and allows third-party sharing so I can update my golf rebuild photos on my forum post.

flicker, imgr are a couple that come to mind.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

I can only hope that nobody pays Photobucket any money! All over the internet you see that image saying that the account needs updating to allow 3rd party hosting. Forums are ruined as a result. I search the net for hints and tips for work I'm going to carry out on my Golf and rely on photos to see what the job entails to help me plan for it. So many threads are ruined on forums everywhere by this and I assume the MD got greedy and hopes everyone will pay rather than update their threads!

There is no need to.
We pay Cloudinary every month to Host the images for you!
Simply use the "Add Images" button :-)
Cloudinary is a CDN, so images will be delivered from their closest geographical server to you.

I use both but prefer Flickr to imgur even though it is owned by Yahoo. Just used a junk Yahoo account. Whilst this site may host images, if you want to share more widely then makes sense to use something like one of those.

I have worked out how to get the images off photobucket.
There is a workaround to make the images appear again - I would imagine that it will be closed soon.
I wrote a perl script to scan our database, just over 54,000 posts have photobucket URL's, and then copy the images to out local server.
Once that has completed I need to work out how to upload them to Cloudinary and fix the links in the 54,000 posts :-)

Cheers,

I was wondering how long it would take to re-do all the links for the AGM!!!! 🙄
If the work around is achievable that would save a lot of work. As you say, until they close the loop. 😉
