3.30pm today i arrive home from work ,park my car outside my house as per usual. Then 30 minutes later i hear a thud, then my alarm blurring away.Goes out to see whats happening and to my horror my neighbour opposite had left her 2 kids asleep in there car ,one wakes up and lets the handbrake off ,there driveway is on a slope ……..bang,straight into my beloved GTi .To say im peed off is an understatement.Im hoping it can be repaired(at there insurance cost) .Heres a few pics i took .
So it looks like im off the road for a while ,only had the car 6 months .

Obviously everything is repairable however I share you concerns over the rear axle problem and what the insurance assessor says. I guess it comes down to whether the repair costs are more than its value? If it is repaired you obviously want it done to the highest standard.
Good luck

Problem with old cars are always the insured value, I think just get everything together you can to prove your case that it's worth more to you than the agree'd value!
Lets hope it's easily reparable!

I hope you've got either agreed value or salvage retention as they'll more than likely want to write it off and offer book value which I doubt you'll want to accept.
