So I bought two new bumpers for my cabrio…. WTH?!?!
I have restored a few cars in my time, mini, ford F1 pickup, and have experienced poor quality repro car parts…… but these bumpers I can only describe as 'comedy bumpers' they are such rubbish it can only be a joke!!!
Ok, so they are only £50 each, but seriously?
Any of you guys thinking about buying these… think carefully!!!

Where did you get them from?
Come on, name and shame!

Those look like quality Chinese OEM parts, my Daddy always said, "You get what you pay for."
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.
Where are my DIY Links?

Comedy Bumpers
Years ago I used to run a MK1 gti campaign for quite some time, about 7 or 8 years, I used and abused it as my only car, and it never let let me down. One time I got walloped from behind by a dozy driver while I was stationary at a junction. The rear bumper took the impact and was banana shaped, no other damage.
If these bumpers were doinked in a parking Misjudgement they would smash!
Instead of a reasonably substantial beam behind the plastic, the whole thing is plastic. The bumper 'irons' are made from sheet metal!!!
I will be following this up with The suppliers.
Yes they are quality - comedy quality!!
'bumper complete with bumper irons. This is the black plastic bumper with black moulding. The trim is non-removable'
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Look a lot like the Heritage ones I had to return for the same reasons - would do nothing in a crash.

Harsh reminder of why a lot of people try and hunt out NOS/OEM parts… that is robbery.
