I'm not lucky enough to have a garage so the cars on the drive.
The car doesn't get used that often so is it worth getting a car cover? Or leave it to the elements as heard covers scratch the car.
Those with covers any recommendations?

I have a cover and it does scratch but they polish off dead easy. Just give a good coat of expensive wax before first using. I believe a couple of minor marks are better than the damage bird poo gritty rain etc can do.

I've got one from Classic Additions for my mk2 Golf, I clean the car before putting it on and keep it in the supplied bag when not in use, I haven't noticed any scratches that have appeared from using it. I've had a couple of cheap ones and they don't fit well and don't last 5 minuets.
There not cheap though-

I've got several stormforce car covers and I highly recommend them! No scratches on my end, as long as the car is clean as you say! I've used the cheap £20 one before and it was daffodil, within a week it was ripped and un-useable

buy a carcoon they cost about £200 used on ebay it will keep your car mint no damp no dust or buy a cover but that will not stop the rain from splashing on floor then splashing under the car in end it will rust it out and also covers rub the paint fin on the roof

As awesome as that look bit too big for my drive.
Going to get a storm force once people have mentioned.
It's a cab so can avoid the roof rails issues. Good shout on the splash back, didn't think of that! Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you - don't have a garage. Furthermore, my car space is under trees, so sap, pollen and leafs occasionally fall into it (as well as the occasional possum or bat sh*t).
I opted to get a cover, one with ventilation holes, elastic edge and a soft backing. Even then, there's been some minor damage to the paint and even my Cabbys canvas roof (friction has made it kinda furry in some places).
I believe it's better than not having any protection though.
If you're going to get one, do get one with ventilation - defeats the purpose of it if it lets condensation pool up inside.

Well I say yes providing you buy a really good quality one.
The one I have is 5 ply and the layer that comes in contact with the car is as soft as a babies bottom. Used it 5 years now and can't fault it, for what it's worth! 👍🏼

So who are we saying are the top manufactures based on the ones you have?
Checked out the storm force one, which was about £180. Good to have a couple of comparisons.
